We will be in the same two court volleyball facility in Nixa for the upcoming 2016 club season

Slight change of plans...in a good way...Xplosion vbc is planning on staying in the facility in Nixa for the upcoming 2016 club season. It is a two court volleyball facility and a great place for volleyball in the area. Club Net Results and Xplosion will share the facility approx. 50/50 and both clubs are excited to work together.  Similar to last year when Xplosion is using the facility for practice it will be just our teams in the gym this winter.  The same can be said for Net Results when they are practicing. Both clubs will handle the financial responsibilities together of a facility while offering a wonderful opportunity for the girls to have one practice facility and a place to call home. This decision was finalized yesterday.  For more info about the club, our teams that are starting to form NOW, and to get to know more about the club/club director email coachjamesh@gmail.com

To elaborate a little more...

The facility was a little too much for Xplosion to handle financially by ourselves.  A few weeks ago I released to our club members we were making plans to move out of the facility...and only days after that decision a door opened for Net Results and Xplosion to work together.  The Net Results director and I get along great and we both want the absolute best for the girls. Given the total amount of teams both clubs are projecting we will have plenty of practice time for both clubs.  I think working together is a wonderful solution and possibly we can make a positive impact in the community and in the lives of our players, parents, and coaches.

thanks,
Coach James Hanger

Plans for Xplosion VBC in 2015/2016

Plans for Xplosion VBC for the fall of 2015 and upcoming club season of 2015/2016

1. Tryouts and forming teams.

2. Create more opportunities for our coaching staff to grow, develop, and pursue their passion as a volleyball coach.

3. Anticipated club season start and end dates

4. Projected club dues

More about forming teams for the upcoming club season......This summer we will begin forming our teams.  I will build teams based on the coaches we get this summer and return from club season last this year.  Both myself and the club coach may ask players to their team.  If you are interested in playing for Xplosion vbc please email coachjamesh@gmail.com the sooner the better and just simply say you are interested in playing club with Xplosion and plan on attending a small group, private lesson, or clinic this summer to get to know coach James and talk about club volleyball.

Will we have tryouts in the fall? Probably.  Some team rosters might be complete by the end of the summer and some may not.   My goal is to secure the majority of our coaches and players this summer.  I think we will add a few coaches to our staff later in the fall and those coaches will need tryouts for their teams.  As long as I have a coach who will do a great job…I will try to field a team for them to coach. I think this will allow between 6 and 12 teams for the upcoming club season (which is smaller than the 14 teams we had last club season). I want to focus on competitive volleyball training and have club members who want excellent training and players who are driven to be great teammates and volleyball players.  I think instead of growing the club and stretching our coaching staff thin it will be better for our club members and coaches to have fewer teams than we did last year and possibly add assistant coaches to some of our teams.  This way some of the veteran coaches can mentor the coaches who want more preparation before they have their own team of players in the future.

2.       More about creating opportunities for our coaches to grow..... My time in the recent club season went into club management, facility management/upkeep, and training the players. I did not have more time in the week to spend with the coaches and provide additional support for them. The coaches are one of the most important components to a great club.  There’s no doubt about it. I want to support our coaches and recruit new coaches to the club who really enjoy coaching and want to grow the game of volleyball.  If that means the club has to pay for online resources the coaches are interested in we will.  Perhaps we will send the coaches to coaching seminars and/or bring in various college coaches or USA volleyball coaches to lead coach development sessions….I realize the club cannot move forward without coaches who have a passion for the game and who want to improve themselves.  I want to have a great support system for the coaches and I think coach development will be the most important factor to growing a competitive club in the future.

3. Anticipated start and end dates of the season.. Every year I am looking for ways to improve the club.  One way I think we can improve the club experience for our members is to begin the season closer to the beginning of November.  Each year we have started training a little earlier and our practices in December and January have been excellent.  Our goal here is to make the most out of training from November to around spring break, and allow our players who want to continue training and playing volleyball after spring break the opportunity to do so as well.  For our 16s to 18s I think these girls will enjoy April, prom, and possibly a few weeks off before they begin summer training with their high school programs.....or...for the girls who want to play in major recruiting volleyball tournaments in April or the summer we can edit or form new teams and find some excellent tourneys to attend with players who are 100% committed to playing in April.

For our players who are still competing in high school volleyball in November they will not be expected to join their club teams until their school volleyball team has concluded their season.

For our younger players...as we conclude the club season tourneys around spring break it will allow these girls to play in some local leagues in April and into summer together or take a little time off from April to May before summer league's really get going that you may participate in.

4. Projected club dues...Our club dues start around $800.  Our older girls who travel to major tourneys and play in big events can expect between $1200 and $1300.  Our club dues package includes two mizuno jerseys including one long sleeve national jersey, a pair of mizuno spandex, and three t-shirts that can double as extra game jerseys. Our dues also include approx. eight tourneys.  Most teams can anticipate four tourneys in the Springfield area and four to five out of town in cities like St. Louis, KC, Fayetteville, Little Rock, Tulsa, Omaha, Memphis, and occasionally our strongest teams may travel to a city like Louisville, Chicago, or Dallas for a national championship or USAV qualifier type of tournament.
This years club dues will be similar to last year...Last years club dues: Can be found here

1. Players Name
2. Parents Name
3. Email address
4. Cell Phone number
5. Are you providing your own coach for league play? (Yes/No) If "yes" is the answer to this question provide the name, email, and cell number for the coach and the coach must go through a team practice with coach James prior to the league play, understand the lineup provided by coach James, and their role as a coach who is representing the club in the league. If the coach is not willing to be a positive member of Xplosion vbc for the league, or they feel like they cannot work with the lineup coach James has provided, they will not be allowed to coach. If the coach does go through this process and wishes to coach for free...then the team will save the $200 coaching expenses above.

If I have multiple people who complete question 6 this will help me to keep a group of girls together for a summer league team.  Individuals will be placed on the best team possible for their skill level based on the club season, small group sessions with coach James, and the summer league open gyms that will be held the last week of April.

(Girls who did not play with Xplosion vbc this season will be asked to pay an additional $10 for a t-shirt jersey they can use during league play. If the team and players want to use official jerseys from the club season we do have some extra jerseys and the cost per jersey is $30 for a yellow mizuno v-neck or $45 for a long sleeve black mizuno national jersey depending on which jersey we are going to play in. Most likely the girls will play in their t-shirt jerseys if we have more than a few girls from outside the club on the team.)

Summer league open gyms from 6-8pm are located at the facility at 1020 Hawks Perch Nixa MO 65714 which is at the corner of Kathryn and Gregg Rd. Near Wal-Mart.

We won't know what night practices will be on or league matches until the the schedule has been released.

League plus practices--The team will practice one evening a week and play in the league. Practices will be 2 to 2:30 hours and may consist of skills, position, physical training, and team training.  The first two practices will most likely be held Monday 5-11-15 and Tuesday 5-12-15 prior to the first night of play in the league on 5-14-15.

Notes from the Fieldhouse:
The Summer Volleyball Session at The Fieldhouse is now open for registration...  This is the biggest session of the year (last year we had over 80 teams) and since we usually have so many teams, we have added Tuesday nights to the mix of 'days of play' - the leagues will now be played on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays - We did this for 2 reasons: 1) this will give teams more options when requesting, with so many having softball and/or soccer plus family vacations - we want everyone to get to play when its convenient for them.
2) we are also hoping adding the extra day of play might eliminate so many 4:40 games :)
